Mask Portraits
Like the great Canadian Artists, Jack Shadbolt and Emily Carr, who's paintings were also influenced by the northwest coast First Nations culture, Daniel Cain chose to paint Masks as portraits.
Such an accomplishment, to paint portraitures in the exact likeness of the actual Masks, is a first in North America. Painting Masks as portraits had never been done before. "Painting Mask Portraits was my way of giving something back."
